The 2010 Idus de Vall Llach is a blend of 45% Carinena, 13% Garnacha, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 12% Syrah, which has an extremely ripe nose with notes of damsons, prunes, dried plums and figs with aromas of decayed flowers in the background. The palate is full-bodied, with lots of stuffing, to a point where the 15.5% alcohol seems to go unnoticed. The finish is slightly drying, and would require some powerful food to compensate the abundant tannins. Drink 2015-2019.
I was a little overwhelmed by the ripeness and power of the reds from Vall Llach and some harsh tannins found in them
