Displaying a deep ruby center, the 2018 Seven Hills Vineyard is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc and 9% each Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The nose offers up decadent aromas of juicy black raspberry, dark cherry skin and sweet oak spices. Medium to full-bodied, the wine displays a delightful, complex mouthfeel with a brilliant texture and mineral tension across the mid-palate, showcasing flavors of dusty blackberry and plum reduction. It ends with a long-lingering finish that will remain food-friendly for the next 10 or more years. The wine rested in French oak, 56% new. Only 6,600 bottles were produced.

A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 11% Merlot, 11% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Seven Hills Vineyard opens with a delightfully expressive nose of dusty plum, blackberry essence, juicy redcurrant, dusty red and purple flowers and elegant oak spices of vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is focused and balanced, showing the most approachable expression of the range, with a tightly wound mid-palate with succulent tannins and flavors of plum skin and graphite. Concluding with a long, lingering finish, the wine offers persistent flavors of bitter dark chocolate and dark cherries. 6,864 bottles produced.

Composed of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Seven Hills Vineyard starts as a softer-styled Cabernet blend with a red-berried core of juicy cranberries and cherries, with delicate spicy florals. The medium-bodied palate is tart but well put together with an elegance that gives way to chewy tannins. The finish lingers with persistence. 566 cases made.

The 2015 Seven Hills Vineyard is mouth-puckeringly tannic and grippy, concluding with a drying finish. It's a wine to avoid.

Graphite, tobacco leaf, incense and chocolate dark fruits all emerge from the 2014 Seven Hills Vineyard, and it's pure, elegant and layered on the palate, with a light, graceful texture. With nice acidity, good overall balance and a clean finish, drink it anytime over the coming decade. The blend of the 2014 is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.
