The 2008 Barolo Arborina shows marvelous depth and richness from start to finish. It seems to have more stuffing than the Giachini, which allows for better integration with the oak. The 2008 Arborina impresses for its energy, length and overall highly polished personality. It is another delicious Barolo from Giovanni Corino. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. The 2007 Barolo Arborina shows fabulous intensity and integrity in its dark red fruit. Higher toned, ethereal, mentholated notes emerge over time adding further lift and brightness. The finish is round, harmonious and totally engaging. This is another standout from Giuliano Corino. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027. Proprietor Giuliano Corino has a stunning set of 2007 Baroli on his hands. The wines capture the ripe, open style of the vintage while preserving considerable freshness, aromatic complexity and structure. These are wonderfully complete Baroli that merit serious consideration. I expect most of the wines will drink well with a minium of cellaring, and continue to develop complexity with further time in bottle.
