The 1996 Barolo Arborina is a dense, severe, muscular effort with intriguing peppery, seaweed-like scents (or is it garrigue?) in the bouquet as well as rich, concentrated, black cherry fruit with subtle oak in the background. This powerful, structured, macho-styled Barolo requires 2-3 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2015.
