As a curiosity, I tasted the 2010 Brut Nature Gran Reserva from a Jerobam, as they sell many of them (around 3,000!). It has fresh floral and fruit-driven aromas with faint notes of yeast. The palate is fresh, with good acidity and persistence. The carbonated gas has small bubbles that create a silky texture in your mouth. The wine seemed a lot less advanced than the 2009 in bottle, subtler and with more aging potential. They never refill the Brut Nature wines and the jeroboams are also fermented in the bottle, as the appellation allows to fill these large bottles from small ones. There is an acute note of fennel that I found across the range, but it is more evident in the fresher vintages like 2010. 250,000 bottles, some 15,000 magnums and 3,000 jeroboams produced. The price is for a regular bottle; the large bottles are not yet sold in the US. At this quality level the price is very good.
