The ruby-colored 1999 Volnay Caillerets has demure blueberry and cherry aromas. Medium to full-bodied, lush, and juicy, it is packed with fresh and candied blackberry flavors. This is a sweet, supple, tannin-filled fruit bomb of a wine. It is satin-textured, nuanced, and immensely pleasing. Projected maturity: now-2009.
