A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot made using 40% new French oak with a 20-month maturation, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2011 Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon presents aromas of blackberry preserves, kirsch, cedar and warm cassis along with hints of pencil shavings, camphor and roses. Medium-bodied, it has a firm foundation of somewhat astringent tannins and crisp acid cutting through the tightly wound, muscular fruit. It finishes a little austere. Drink it now to 2019+.
