A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet colored 2009 Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon gives notes of black currant cordial and plum preserves with nuances of cigar boxes, soy, slightly burnt toast and yeast extract. Medium to full-bodied, it is highly-structured in the mouth by firm, grainy tannins and crisp acid, giving backbone to the muscular, savory and slowly evolving fruit. The finish is long with the oak standing out a little. Drink it now to 2019.
