The dense ruby/purple-colored 2000 Casalferro is monolithic as well as internationally-styled, but admirers of that type of wine will enjoy it. If it lacks soul, it is unquestionably well made, impeccably clean, and correct. Its sweet nose of black currants, vanilla, and espresso is followed by a medium-bodied wine with ripe tannin and an attractive finish. Consume it over the next 7-8 years.
