Like the other wines from Fèlsina, celebrated consulting enologist Franco Bernabei plays a big role in shaping the wines from Castello di Farnetella. The 2018 Poggio Granoni is 70% Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah in supporting roles. The Sangiovese comes through clearly with pretty tones of wild cherry and plum. The other grapes in the blend add considerably to the medium heft and texture of the wine. The Merlot and the Syrah contribute to the softness you taste on the close. I suggest drinking this wine young while that primary fruit is still freshest.
