Latour's 1999 Meursault Charmes had just finished its malolactic fermentations when I visited the estate in October, 2000, thirteen months after harvest. It has excellent depth, length, and richness in its mineral, apple, pear, and floral-flavored character. This silky-textured wine should be consumed over the next 5-6 years.
