The 2010 Barbaresco Bordini proved delightful and full of surprises. The bouquet is packed tight with menthol tones followed by licorice, cassis, balsam notes and a touch of teriyaki smoke. This is an expressive and communicative wine that presents the Nebbiolo grape in an opulent and full-bodied style. Soft layers of fruit, leather, tar and more dried mint are folded into its fleshy consistency. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. Fontanabianca was born in 1969, when two prominent farmers in Neive, Franco Pola and Ottavio Ferro, joined forces. Their respective sons, Aldo and Bruno, now manage the estate.
