For Peg Bay’s high-end bottling, this is a bit of a disappointment. It offers dried spices and cherries on the nose, then adds sour cherry flavors on the palate. With time, darker cherry flavors emerge, showing a slight element of sur-maturite. It’s medium-bodied, with some firm tannins still in evidence. Hold through 2008 and hope for improvement.
