For the second consecutive release, I’ve rated Prima Donna lower than the regular Pinot from Peg Bay. Maybe it’s just more closed at this stage, or maybe I’m looking for something different in Pinot than this wine’s architects have in mind. It’s nice enough, offering plenty of spice and earthy complexity, but also a dark, brooding character reminiscent of coffee and dark chocolate. Try in 2008.——J.C.(8/1/2004)—— 88
