The 2002 C?te R?tie Les Grandes Places benefited from a new sorting table that was purchased prior to harvest. Aged 30 months in oak, it’s a solid 2002 that gives up attractive currant, licorice, dusty earth and forest floor notes, as well as a medium-bodied, lightly textured, mature feel on the palate. While not as difficult in the north as it was in the south, 2002 is still a difficult vintage and this is a solid effort.
