Tasted at the chateau, the 2006 Bellefont-Belcier has a rather distant bouquet, nicely defined, with a touch of shoe polish infusing the black fruit, later a scintilla of Hoisin. The palate is fresh on the entry with good acidity, though the tannins feel a little tough and the finish pulls up surprisingly short. Not a bad Saint Emilion, but based on this showing, I would drink bottles in the near future. Tasted March 2016.
