The 1994 Bellefont-Belcier is a solid, chunky, fleshy wine with moderate quantities of fruit, glycerin, and extract. It is a wine to drink during its first 7-8 years of life.A new proprietor and winemaker, Louis Mitjavile, (the son of Tertre-Roteboeuf's owner) seems destined to take this property up the qualitative ladder. All of the wines in this segment were tasted between March 19 and March 28 in Bordeaux. Most of the important wines from both the 1994 and 1995 vintages were tasted three separate times during my ten-day stay in Bordeaux.
