This wine was tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur is one not to be overlooked. It has a very pretty bouquet with touches of marzipan infusing the flinty, smoky aromas. There is an abiding sense of transparency here. The palate is fresh and poised, with beautifully judged acidity and an engaging, white peach-tinged finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is simply excellent…and it gets better in the glass.
