The dark ruby-colored 1999 Volnay Chevrets was tasted twice. It offers oak-infused dark fruit aromas and an outstanding density of sweet black cherry, blackberry, and licorice flavors. It is medium to full-bodied, highly extracted, and loaded with copious quantities of ripe tannin. This wine, from vines averaging over 40 years of age, is fresh, tangy, and powerful.
