The 2012 Pinot Noir Renegade Ridge Estate is contiguous with Archery Summit on an east-facing incline. Picked October 10-17, it had twice daily punchdown during alcoholic fermentation. Including 10% whole-cluster fruit, it is matured in 46% new French oak over ten months. It has a more floral bouquet compared to the Archer's Edge: raspberry and crushed strawberry, a vein of candied orange peel with hints of brown spices. The palate is medium-bodied with wild strawberry and red cherry with moderate weight, just a hint of glycine, with a slightly backward finish this needs a little more depth. Fine.
