The 2005 Pinot Noir Renegade Ridge Estate was picked both before and after the rains that year. It includes 9% whole cluster fruit and was aged in 65% new French oak. It has quite a rich bouquet with scents of red plum, wild strawberry, marionberry and cumin, still holding up well after ten years in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin and plenty of spice (white pepper, clove and cumin). It feels dense in the mouth with good weight. What it does not do is really "flow" and it feels a little leaden on the finish.
