The following three single-vineyard expressions all show evident oak tones that need more time to integrate with three to five more years of bottle age.The 2009 Barolo Cerequio is the most immediately appealing, with a generous, almost sunny personality. Ripe fruit tones round off the finish and the wine presents soft, almost sweet tannins. A touch of sour cherry adds brightness and energy to the bouquet. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2023. Damilano enjoys access to some of the best fruit in Piedmont. They own a whopping 73 hectares including important holdings in arguably the three most celebrated crus of Barolo/La Morra: Brunate, Cerequio and Cannubi. They are in the enviable position of being able to offer a wide selection of wines, each one an expression of an individual territory, and they also deliver very respectable entry-level Barolos.
