Bernhard Huber's 2009 Sommerhalde Sp?tburgunder GG is fine, flinty and intense on the elegant, spicy, well-concentrated but also pure and in the end also refined bouquet that also reveals nougat and toasty nuances. Silky, finessed and elegant on the palate, this is a very mineral and saline Pinot from a great vintage. Yet it is quite tannic and a bit drying on the finish. It has crunchy tannins and stimulating salts, but the 100% oak stringency dries it out a bit. A little tragedy. This vintage would have deserved a greater wine. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in October 2023.
