The 2010 Sommerhalde Sp?tburgunder GG is pure, fresh and smoky on the coolish, well-concentrated, spicy-aromatic and saline nose that is initially also pretty toasty, which initially masks the finesse and character of the vintage but becomes more integrated with aeration (in my case 4 days, which was more than necessary). Full-bodied, intense and juicy on the palate, this is a very intense, rich and pretty oaky Pinot with port aromas, good grip and tension but also a rather oxidative or developed finish that is a bit thrifty in terms of texture and fruit. Drink soon. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in October 2023.
