Tasted at the property, the 1982 Chateau du Tertre has never been one of the best wines of the appellation and after more than three decades, it is going nowhere fast. On the nose: warm leather, dried blood and quite rustic in style, especially when juxtaposed against the more refined wines currently being crafted by winemaker Alexandre Van Beek. The palate is medium-bodied with soy-like notes on the entry intermingling with sour cherry, dried herbs and tobacco. "Hanging in there" are the three words I used to sum up this 1982. Do not delay drinking this wine up if you have any bottles. Tasted June 2015.
