Bruno Clair's Chambertin-Clos de Beze is extremely impressive. It is his most backward wine and is even less developed than the Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Dominaudes. With coaxing, a rich, berry-scented, spicy, intense bouquet of Pinot fruit emerges. On the palate, one can see its excellent, even outstanding depth, impressive structure, and long finish. This wine should not be consumed before the mid-nineties, and it should last through the first decade of the twenty-first century.
