The 2009 Clos du Roi is turning into a little beauty. It has a beautiful bouquet with lifted fresh strawberry and black currant fruit pastille – so pure and very well-defined. The palate is supple and generous on the entry, but there is a keen thread of acidity that keeps everything focused and endows it with a weightless intensity on the finish. This pretty, feminine Clos du Roi is approachable now, but it warrants several years ageing if you want to get the most from it. Tasted March 2013.
