Sorrel's red wines are favorites among connoisseurs. In 1992, both a regular cuvee and Le Greal were produced. The 1992 Hermitage Le Greal (from vines planted in 1928) offers an opaque black/purple color, a sweet, exotic, licorice, leather, beefy, and blackcurrant-scented nose, full-bodied, dense, concentrated flavors, low acidity, moderate tannin, and an intense finish. An outstanding wine for the vintage, it is one of the finest 1992 northern Rhones. No known American importer.
