Here's another organic wine from Fabio Sireci of Feudo Montoni, this one aged on the lees in cement for 6 months. The 2020 Sicilia Grillo Timpa is very fragrant and floral, and the wine shows terrific purity throughout. Aromas of peach blossom and honeysuckle are put on full display, and there are soft touches of beeswax and Sicilian candied fruit. Pretty mineral notes play into the charming sweet versus dry contrasts that you get in this release of 36,000 bottles. "Timpa" is the local term for a steep climb, which gives you an idea of the terrain where this Grillo is grown at more than 700 meters in altitude and the work involved in its cultivation. The wine offers outstanding value.
