The medium to dark ruby-colored 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, aged in 25-30% new oak, reveals super-ripe, waxy black cherry aromas. Deep, lush, and concentrated it is also pure, fresh, and structured. Loads of cherries can be found in its boisterous character as well as in its long, intense, slightly firm finish. Projected maturity: 2005-2012.
