The 2000 Calvario is more expressive on the nose with dark cherries, licorice and marmalade that is well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with vibrant red berry fruit, white pepper and touches of marmalade and Asian spice. The finish is well-structured and composed, urging you to take another sip. Drink now-2017.
Commencing with the Allende Blanc, I was impressed by how well this ages. Predominantly Viura with a higher percentage of Malvasia in older vintages, it develops a fine waxy texture and almost dried Barsac-like personality.
