The least impressive, although still an excellent wine is the 2006 Syrah Roll Ranch. Usually Ojai’s softest, most voluptuously textured cuvee, the 2006 is an opulent, forward Syrah displaying a deep ruby/purple color in addition to sweet blackberry and blueberry fruit intermixed with some earthiness in the background. Already delicious, it is an evolved 2006 that should drink nicely for another 3-4 years.
This is a special group of Syrahs from Adam Tolmach’s Ojai Vineyard. Moreover, prices have remained stable, so consumers should be standing in line to buy these wines.
