The estate’s Morellino di Scansano Capatosta is made from old Sangiovese vineyards with an addition of 5% Alicante (Grenache). The 2004 is high-class all the way. Rich and layered, it is a big, muscular Morellino packed with ripe dark red fruit intermingled with subtle notes of earthiness, licorice and toasted oak, showing outstanding length and very fine overall balance. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2014.
