The 2001 Morellino di Scansano Capatosta doesn’t quite have the overblown, super-rich character of the 1998, but it more than holds its own with a sweet, warm, red fruit nose, much vigor and length of flavor, and a round, warmly alcoholic texture well supported on the finish by the tannins.
