The 2001 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Salco is better than the regular bottling, though not dramatically so in this vintage, sweeter in its fruit (some of which is picked at late-harvest ripeness levels), warmer and more alcoholic in its aromas and flavors, broader and more ample in its texture, and longer on the finish and the aftertaste.
