Unlike most of my Australian tastings, I had a slight preference for this winery's white wines over its reds. The light straw-colored 1995 Chardonnay exhibits an apple/citrusy-like nose, tart acidity, and beautifully rich, medium-bodied flavors revealing admirable concentration and subtle new oak. The wine does not taste Burgundian, Californian, and perhaps not even Australian. What it does taste like is a high quality Chardonnay. Drink it over the next several years.
