The nose of the 2011 Tinto Reserva was intensely balsamic, with the Bordeaux varieties coming through and providing a much needed freshness in such a warm vintage. Surprisingly enough, according to the technical data, there is only 4% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. The aromas are subtle and elegant, with those balsamic notes I mentioned plus ripe black cherries, something minty and with toasted notes. The palate is full-bodied but very nicely balanced and smooth, with fine, round tannins and good length. 60,000 bottles.
