The 2008 Poggio Valente is without question one of the successes of the vintage. Dark cherries, leather, licorice and tobacco are some of the notes that take shape in the glass as this cool, vibrant wine reveals its impeccable, refined personality. This mid-weight Poggio Valente reflects the cool nature of the year in a beautifully balanced, harmonious style. The 2008 Poggio Valente is 97% Sangiovese and 3% Merlot that spent 15 months in French oak barrels, 40% new and 60% 2 year-old. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020.

Polished, with spice and smoke from the oak, plum, black cherry and tar flavors. It finishes with chocolate and spice notes backed by firm tannins. Best from 2013 through 2020.
