The inky/purple-colored 2010 Crozes-Hermitage Les Pierrelles is exuberantly fruity, offering plenty of sweet cassis, licorice, black currant and floral notes. Full-bodied and supple, particularly for a 2010, it is ideal for drinking over the next decade. This has long been one of my favorite estates since I first tasted their wines with importer Robert Kacher nearly thirty years ago. While there are only tiny quantities of the Hermitage, it is consistently a fine offering from this family-owned domaine.
