The 2005 Barbaresco Montersino is especially beautiful in this vintage. This dark, masculine Barbaresco offers up a compelling array of menthol, earthiness, tar, smoke, dark fruit and toasted oak on an imposing frame. Despite the wine’s heft, it possesses more than enough stuffing to balance the tannins. This is an impressive effort from a producer whose wines are getting better and better with each passing vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2022.
