The 2007 La Basseta is made up of 45% Carignan, 40% Grenache, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 15 months in 50% new French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it reveals a fragrant nose of spice box, mineral, underbrush, licorice, plum and, black cherry. Ripe and layered on the palate, it has loads of spicy, savory black and blue fruit, excellent balance and concentration, as well as several years of aging potential. It will offer a drinking window extending from 2012 to 2022.
Mas Alta is made by the French team of Phillipe Cambie and Michel Tardieu from old vines in the Priorat village of La Vilella Alta.
