The garnet-colored 2004 Coma Vella is a blend of 30% Carinena, 20% Garnacha Peluda, 20% Garnacha Pais, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah aged for 12 months in French oak. Aromas of cedar, plum, cassis, wild cherry, and cinnamon lead to an elegant, round, savory, forward wine with layers of succulent fruit. There is complexity on the palate along with excellent grip, and length. Although it is likely to evolve for another 2-3 years, it can be enjoyed now through 2019.
