Tasted at the Domaine Engel tasting in London, the 1993 Vosne-Romanée Village has a refined and elegant bouquet with brambly red fruit, rose petals and minerals--punching above village Cru quality. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly rigid tannin that render this more masculine than you would expect and, to quibble, maybe just does not quite deliver the nuance that Engel's wines can deliver. That said, you could see this continuing to drink well for another 8-10 years. Tasted October 2016.
