Opened by my new colleague, Yohan Castaing, the 1962 Vosne-Romanée Village is showing beautifully, offering up aromas of sweet red berries and dried fruits mingled with hints of cedar, warm spices and orange rind. Medium-bodied, suave and refined, with melted tannins and a fine-boned, elegant profile, it would have presumably included Engel's holdings in premier cru Aux Br?lées, which were not bottled separately in this era.
