The blockbuster 2010 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Rasteau Les Esqueyrons is an equal part blend of tank-aged Grenache and barrel-aged Syrah from the estate’s oldest vines. A black/purple color is followed by a stunning perfume of ink, incense, chocolate and sweet kirsch liqueur. The wine reveals good texture, a full-bodied personality and superb concentration, purity and potential. Give it several years of bottle age and drink it over the following 12-15 years.
This excellent estate came to my attention as it is one of Philippe Cambie’s clients. Importer: Peter Weygandt, Weygandt-Metzler, Unionville, PA; tel. (610) 486-0800
