The Luneau-Papin 2005 Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie Clos des Alees smells of apple blossom, apple seed, lemon and honey in a manner reminiscent of the Mosel. Satisfyingly, indeed lusciously full of fruit on the palate as well as surprisingly plush in texture for Muscadet, this finishes with real density and richness, while never forgetting its Muscadet duty to refresh. Pierre and Monique Luneau-Papin are among those Muscadet vignerons offering a range of different bottles from individual micro-climates, and I did not taste them all. They also release their wines at a leisurely pace, and considering the freshness and complexity of a four year old release from these cellars it is no wonder.Importer: Louis/Dressner Selections, New York, NY; tel.
