Surprisingly, the most tightly wound and focused of Girardin’s grand crus is the 2003 Batard-Montrachet (white). Its spice, flower, and mineral-scented nose is demure, as is its flavor profile. Light to medium-bodied, with aeration it displays outstanding depth and richness to its mineral-infused core. Drink it between 2006 and 2013. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel.
