The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée is also showing beautifully from bottle, offering up notes of pear, green apple, crisp cantaloupe melon, bee pollen, citrus oil, pastry cream and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, racy and precise, with a tensile, incisive profile and considerable concentration. This will really reward at least a few years' bottle age, as it's quite tightly wound at present.
