Buttered toast and pulp-laden pears can be discerned in the aromatics of the 2001 Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanee. Spicy, lush, nutty, and creamy-textured, this is a medium-bodied wine with a wonderfully spicy, rich, and layered character as well as a long, fresh, expressive finish. Projected maturity: now-2008.
