The 1998 Hermitage Le Meal Estate rouge exhibits aromas of melted asphalt, smoke, minerals, and meat as well as a rustic, medium to full-bodied, muscular format. While big and rich, it is also stubbornly tannic and backward. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring and consume it over the following 15-20 years.
